Different Dimension: Silenced the Lambs Halloween 2013 Collection

Today I have some more Different Dimension polish for you!  These are four polishes that make up the 2013 Halloween collection inspired by the movie Silence of the Lambs.  The names on these are so great!

Good Evening, Clarice (do you read it in Hannibal’s voice?  I do! Hahaha!) is a pastel lime green scattered holographic polish that also glows in the dark!  The glow on this one is pretty intense, even without a white base!  I’m absolutely horrid at capturing glow photos, but you get the idea! Haha.  This is three coats, no top coat.  Perfect for trick-or-treating!

It Rubs the Lotion on Its Skin is a black and orange slightly textured polish.  This is an awesome Halloween polish!  I love this one!  Great formula

piCture pOlish Blog Fest 2013: Celebrating the Year of the Blogger

Hello, beauties!  Well… the cat’s out of the bag!!  I’m so excited to finally share with you all that I’ve been chosen to participate in this year’s piCture pOlish Blog Fest 2013!  It’s been a secret up until now, and it’s now time for all the participants around the world to share their posts! So much fun and so so exciting!

This year’s Blog Fest theme is all about nail art.  We were all given three random piCture pOlish colors to use and create nail art with.  The three colors sent to me were Jealousy, Starry Night, and Flirt .  Jealousy is a green glitter polish that is literally full coverage at one coat.  Simply gorgeous.  Flirt is a berry pink creme that is, again, opaque in

Painted Polish: Swatches & Review, Part 2

Hello!  Today I have the glitter toppers from Painted Polish to show you.  They are all bright and colorful for summer!  There’s actually two that I’m not going to include in this post because I’m not happy with the photos and I’ve redone them both way too many times.  I will see how they come out on Instagram, and I may just post there.  If not, there will be a part 3 coming your way.  Haha. First up is Tecktonik.  This is a mix of dark pink, orange, green, and silver glitters in all different shapes and sizes. Total glitter bomb!  That yellow looking glitter piece is just a green glitter shining in the light.  Formula was great, plenty of glitter coverage.  This is one coat over OPI Don’t

Painted Polish: Swatches & Review, Part 1

Hi beauties! This is my first post featuring my new blog design!! I’m so excited for the new look! My blog designer is amazing and did exactly what was ME! Love it! Today I have a new indie brand to show you.  The Painted Polish line is made by Lexi, and she started out fabulously on trend with some textured neons. Always exciting in my book! AND… Lexi has given me a discount code to share with you guys!! Read to the end for the discount code! The formula on all of these was great. These are all polishes with a “sand” kind of texture.  These can also be smooth with top coat, but I love the texture thing going on so I left them all alone.  The polish is a little on the thicker side but is not goopy at all. It goes exactly where you put it and doesn’t move. I didn’t clean up at all… So don’t mind the tiny glitter flecks I only noticed when I blew up the photos on my computer. I was thinking I was so cool with my perfect painting! Not. Good enough. So let’s see the polish! First up is Nova. This is a neon pink jelly base with matte neon pink and holo glitter for a touch of sparkle. The photo isn’t showing as bright as it is in real life. Bummer with neons! This is two coats. Perfect hot pink! This is Pulsar, a neon green jelly base with matte neon green and holo glitter again for a bit of bling. Super neon green! Love it! This is two coats. Neutron is the blue version of the last two polishes, except this one is in a clear base. This can be layered over another color or is opaque on its own in three coats. I used three coats for the photo. Now we have Solar Flare, which is the yellow version! Hilighter yellow polish? Yes, please! This one has a neon yellow base so I only needed two coats. The next few polishes have multi-colored glitter in the same texture formula. These are so fun! This one is Aurora.  This has tiny neon matte glitter in blue, yellow, pink, and a but of holo in a clear base. I used three coats. Next up is Nebula. I think this might be my fave! It’s got the perfect amount of sparkle and of course it doesn’t pick up nearly as accurately on camera! The mini holo glitters are so fitting! This also has neon matte pink and yellow glitter in a clear base. Two coats. Last but not least, I have Galactic. This one is gorgeous too. This is matte neon pink and blue glitter with a bit of holo in a clear base. I used two coats. Lexi did an amazing job with these polishes. They can be purchased in her store PaintedPolish.com.  Make sure to follow her on Facebook and Instagram (@nailsbylexi) for store updates.

Polish Me To Go: Nail Art

Hello!  Finally some nail art!!  Today I have some glow-in-the-dark polishes by Polish Me To Go!  These are the brightest glowing polishes I’ve ever tried!  Rather than swatching, I decided to do some nail art with these to show the cool ways you can use glowing polish.  I’m taking my nephew to Disneyland tomorrow so I figured this was a great opportunity to test the glow!

First of all, all of the glow polishes were put over a one coat base of Polish Me To Go’s White Undies.  This helps the color pop and also brings out the glow.  This white went on easily and I only needed one quick coat.

For the design, the main color I used was I’m So Blue.  The formula on this one was super goopy, even after I thinned

Polished By KPT

Hello! Happy Saturday! Today I have some of the coolest polishes out there! The latest indie trend is a thermal polish, a polish that changes color depending on a hot or cold temperature. So cool! Polished by KPT seems to have this trend in the palm of her hand. I have three gorgeous polishes from her line to show you.  Katherine seems to have her formulas down to perfection, so to avoid repetition, I’ll say it now.

The formula on all these polishes were just perfect!  Also, the color change on these is so unpredictable. For photos, I stick my nails in water to show you how they change, but with regular wear, the color changes from one color to the other or sometimes is a mix of both all throughout the day!  You never know what

Nail Art: Studs

Hi, all!  Well, I broke another nail. Boo!  So I filed down quite a bit so they can all be even.  Sometimes it feels good to get a fresh start! Nail Envy and Essie Millionails to the rescue!

Today I have a simple mani to share in a quick post.  This is a good way to get the “nail art” look, but it’s super simple for everyone!  All you have to do is pick a few colors you like and add some studs!  There you go!

For this look I used a couple colors from the Summer Neon Collection by China Glaze.  They are both the creme formula.  I used two coats over one coat of white to help the color pop.  The purple is That’s Shore Bright, and the orange is Sun of a Peach.  Absolutely not completely color accurate.

Different Dimension: Swatches and Review, Part III

More Different Dimension!! Haha! This isn’t even the last!  I have six more to show you, but today I have two polishes from a You’ve Got a Friend in Me duo set.

The first in this set is To Infinity & Beyond, a glitter topper that glows in the dark!  This polish has green, purple and white glitter in a clear base.  I used one coat over two easy coats of Face Shop PP401.  This is going to be my go-to polish for Disneyland!  I have an annual pass and go all the time! This is perfect 🙂  Also, I took glowing photos and accidentally deleted them!  Boo! I’m so sad! But this glows green in the dark!

The second polish in this set is Reach For the Sky, a yellow crelly with red, yellow square, and iridescent glitters.
