I have the most amazing niece ever. I was talking to my sister about naming my blog and how I needed a good name... well, my eavesdropping niece shouts out, "PINK YOU ROCK DOT COM!!" So here we are. Pink really does rock, after all.

Freak Show Polish

So since I've been doing my own nails, I've discovered Indie polishes. For those who aren't familiar, it's polishes or pigments that are mixed to make custom colors or custom-made glitter mixes. One word... Obsessed. I'm a big fan of Indie polishes and also of small businesses so it a match made in heaven!!!

For this particular manicure, I used polish from the Freak Show Polish line in the color Snake Lady. This can be purchased from Carissa via her website, www.freakshowpolish.bigcartel.com. She is also on Instagram under username @mrs_cbaker. You can get info and photos and swatches from there.

I got this mini bottle in a set of 5 and this is the first one I tried! Let me just say, I'm in love!! This color wasn't the first to attract me out of the 5, but I was wanting to do a fall/autumn type of mani so I went for this one. It's GORGEOUS!! So different than any other glitter polish I've ever had... Or even seen for that matter!

Snake Lady is a top coat glitter polish that will look best layered over a color. It has coppery brown, black, and a few white hexes in different sizes and there appears to be small gold flecks in there too. The formula wasn't goopy or thick, and I didn't have to fish for glitter at all (unless you want a white fleck on every nail, then you might have to dig a little because there aren't a ton). But as far as even glitter distribution, I was actually able to just brush two thin layers on instead having to pat it all over my nail. Makes for fast and easy drying!!

I chose to use Butter London's The Old Bill (a metallic copper shade) with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in The Real Teal (a dark shimmery teal) sponged over the tips with two coats of Snake Lady over the top. I love how it came out!!

31-Day Challenge

Well, day 6. My favorite number. And my birthday. 30th to be exact.

So the theme today (not literally today but the 6th) was violet. I had to make it good... These are my birthday nails after all. I used Island Girl Aloha Luau & stripers for the pointer, Sinful Colors Let's Talk on the thumb and ring finger. The ring finger has TokiDoki Stellina over the top. The pinky & middle finger is Sinful Colors Dream On, and the middle has Lynderella The Telltale Heart over the top.

Love how they came out!

31-Day Challenge

Day 4 theme was Green. I have Zoya Ivanka and hadn't used it so this was the perfect opportunity. It came out so shimmery and sparkly but my camera would NOT capture it!! Ugh! Anyway, I left the color alone because it's a standout on its own. So pretty!!

Day 5 theme is Blue. I had been wanting to enter a mix n' match contest on instagram so I did that theme for blue. I did a leopard print with Sinful Colors Cinderella & Color Club Sky High, a jelly sandwich with Essie Set in Stones & Cinderella, a glitter nail dipped in powder glitter, a honeycomb nail with octogon holograms, and a nail with Nails Inc. Special Effects in Pudding Lane. Phew! That was a mouthful! LOL.

Here's the photos of Days 4 & 5. So far I'm keeping up! Only 25 more to go! Aaah!

31-Day Challenge, Day 3

So the Day 3 theme was "Yellow." I owned a yellow polish that I've never used, which is one of the reasons I wanted to try this challenge!! I'm using and trying colors I wouldn't otherwise reach for. Well, I sure had a hell of a time deciding what to do once I had the yellow nails. I couldn't leave it plain. I just couldn't. LOL. I FINALLY worked out a design.

So here's what I came up with. Ended up turning out okay! I just COULD NOT get my phone to take a decent photo! So annoying!!

31-day Challenge

So...I saw this on Instagram. I debated and debated with myself whether I wanted to commit. Well, I'm going to do it. I'll try my best, but I'm not making promises!! LOL. I'm going to attempt it and then post to my blog every day. I think it will help me try new things since I now have my gels off. I started a day late so that's why I'm missing red. I'll start with orange. Here we go!! Wish me luck! LOL.
